Birthday Week

All three of our birthdays (Matt's, Carol's, and Baylee's) fall within a single week in mid-June.  Baylee's birthday was yesterday so we just wrapped up our annual weeklong birthday celebration.

We celebrated with our first sail of the season.

It was a quiet and uneventful sail.  Perfect to get our sea legs back.  There were just a few other boats out on the water.

We baked a birthday cake and decorated it with Swedish fish because, well, just because that's what we had.

This was Baylee's 12th birthday.  How time flies.
Here is Baylee when she was a puppy.

And here she is now in her golden years.

She enjoyed a really good nap on her birthday.

She pretty much enjoys a good nap every day so I guess you could say that every day is her birthday.

For her birthday treat, we drove down to the Dairy Queen.

The look of anticipation.

And the birthday dog cone!

"Can I have seconds please?!

Have a great week!

They're Back!

Matt has been underway with the Stennis for almost six weeks.  The ship (and Matt) returned to Bremerton on Monday after a busy training and evaluation period in preparation for their upcoming deployment.

Baylee and I weren't very exciting during the time he was gone.  Baylee was like a slug.  Slug behavior is one of her areas of expertise though, so she spent time perfecting her craft..

She can do that for hours on end.

I was a bit of a slug too.
Well, maybe not that bad, but  I was happy to see the ship back and took a few shots of the arrival.

Here is the ship approaching the pier.

With the help of the tugs, it inches ever so slowly into place on the side of the pier.

Almost there.

Family and friends await the arrival.

There's Matt!

And a happy dog when we get home.
